Minimum Wage Workers Blamed For Leaking Album

Tuesday, January 30, 2007

Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy has recently spoken up about the leak of the highly anticipated album "Infinity On High".

Wentz described the leak as “devastating” and both the label and band are suggesting that it was a low-level pressing plant employee that is at fault.

In his interview with Rolling Stones Magazine he made a few statements that the magazine then turned into "The Five Stages Of Post-Album Leak
Grief".

1. DENIAL

Pete pretends he doesn’t care how the leak will effect chart position:
“It’s gotten to the point where I’m like, who really cares about the first
week (sales)? If people like the music then they like the music. That’s the
best thing about it. There’s been a positive response.”

2. ANGER

Pete lashes out at the working man: “Our job is to put out records and tour
and make music. What are we gonna do? Sit at the plant [he believes the leak
began at the label’s manufacturing plant] and watch everybody? Some guy
working minimum wage, why would he care how it affects us? It’s a
multi-pronged thing.”

3. BARGAINING

Pete begs us to help him weave a silver lining: “If you've downloaded a song-
cause we know a lot of you hxc fob have. please take a moment and pick a friend
and give them their first chance to listen to fall out boy. someone who would
never expect to like it. convince them. you are fall out boy for that 3 minutes
and 52 seconds. keep being our ambassadors. we will keep telling dudes in suits
to chill out.”

4. DEPRESSION

Pete wallows: “Our new record has leaked. While this isn’t the end of the
world it certainly feels pretty terrible. As an artist we have a vision for how
we want our record to be presented and this isn’t it.”

4 1/2. SELF-AGGRANDIZEMENT

Wentz is an artist and sometimes he invents things, including new stages of
grief. He boasts: “This could potentially be one of the biggest leaks there
is. If you think that every year computers, iPod, internet music grows
exponentially and we’re probably one of the biggest bands in rock music on the
internet.”

5. ACCEPTANCE

This is the last, elusive stage. Will he ever get here?

Just a quick update on one of our favourite bands. P!ATD are due to release their new album in August 2007. They are to go into the recording studio in January 2007. This album is going to be different form anything they have done before, whist using and experimenting with instruments they haven't used before either.
The exact release date and title of the album is still up in the air, but more information will be given as it comes closer to the date.
